Arbitration Entry Courses are offered by the Institute on a regular basis. Successful completion of this course (including assignment - normally not more than 1,000 words) allows the delegate to apply for Associate Membership (ACIArb) of the Institute. The course is designed for those that wish to learn more about arbitration and its benefits to users, anyone new to the field of arbitration who has not had legal training and wants to gain an awareness of arbitration and those that are considering further study to develop their knowldge in the field of arbitration and gain membership with the Institute. The course is delivered over 1 day, and consists of a series of lectures, discussion workshops and includes a demonstration arbitration hearing which gives some candidates the opportunity of role play. A typical course programme includes:

- Powers / Jurisdiction / Appointment of Arbitrator
- Preliminary Meeting / Pre-Hearing Procedure / Submissions

- Essentials of the Award
- Role play within workshops during the day.
